Rental Property -Bond Check List

When it’s time to move in or out read our Check List for plenty of tips on making sure you get a full refund of your bond.

The bond is lodged with NSW Fair Trading. The Agency cannot keep the money or put it into an account in the tenant’s name.  Agents have 10 working days from the end of each month in which to lodge all bonds received during that month.

At the end of the tenancy a claim for refund of bond money is to be completed and is filled in by both the tenant and the agent (The Real Estate Solutions Team will supply this form).  The team will calculate the refund of the bond after the final Property Inspection Report detailing any damage that will require the tenant to make good.  This is entered onto the Claim for Refund of Bond Money.  This form is to be completed by the Tenant also and submitted.  The process for disputing the lodgement of claims by the Tenant or Agent is detailed on the back of the form.
